Leading spa and wellness destination, Daniel Thwaites Spa Group, is proud to announce the enhancement of its cancer care training with the Amethyst Trust, approved by the Standards Authority for Touch in Cancer Care (SATCC). The SATCC, founded by Sue Harmsworth, formerly of ESPA, is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards and quality in cancer massage training.

The comprehensive training, provided by the Amythyst Trust, who specialise in the Amethyst Specialist Cancer Massage, offering a range of treatments suitable for individuals with or recovering from cancer. This initiative reflects the Daniel Thwaite Spa Group's commitment to inclusivity, prioritising the wellbeing of clients and adapting services to cater to diverse health needs, tailored to those who’s lives have been touched by cancer.

 The spa group provides a list of appropriate aromatherapy oils for cancer massage, emphasising the importance of using them only if trained in aromatherapy. Popular essential oils recommended for cancer massage include:

  1. Lavender: Suitable for some types of cancer for stress relief and improving sleep
  2. Frankincense: Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, immunity-boosting, and anxiety-relieving effects.
  3. Rosemary: Stimulates the immune system.
  4. Chamomile: Offers muscle tension relief, relaxation, and aids sleep.
  5. Neroli: Promotes relaxation and aids sleep.
